E3 2014: Hunt monsters in Platinum Games’ Scalebound for Xbox One

From the makers of Bayonetta, Vanquish and The Wonderful 101 comes Scalebound, a titanic action game about bestial combat.

The trailer shown during Microsoft’s E3 conference shows a young, headphone-clad character and his dragon companion facing off against a smaller but still massive creature in a lush jungle. The trailer concludes with the appearance of a monolithic hydra that consumes the aforementioned creature with ease, leaving our once cocky protagonist in more than a little trouble.

Game director Hideki Kamiya describes Scalebound as “action at a whole new scale,” but did not offer a release window for the game. What we do know is that the title will be exclusive to Xbox One, uncharted territory for Platinum Games.
