E3 2014: Play the tyrant (but do it lovingly) in Citizens of Earth

Atlus today released a new trailer for upcoming sim-meets-JRPG Citizens of Earth.

Citizens of Earth charges you, the new vice-president of the world, with, well, doing whatever you want, it seems.

“Being the Vice President of the World means asking not what you can do for your countrymen, but what your countrymen can do for your!” the trailer’s description reads, sending the late John F. Kennedy into hysterics.

The game features the turn-based combat and dry humor that Atlus is known for, done up in a strikingly cartoony aesthetic reminiscent of many mobile games. However, it’s not entirely clear what you’ll be doing as Earth’s VP, though at the very least we can infer you’ll be gathering resources of some description and beating protesters with picket signs.

Citizens of Earth will release as a download-only title for PC, PS4, PS Vita, 3DS and Wii U in North America and Europe later this year.
