E3 2016: Bethesda Conference Roundup

This weekend gave us the inauguration of the 2016 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). Sunday night presented the conference for, among others, Bethesda Studios. The announcements were mostly centered on long awaited sequels and several new and enticing mods for which the gaming community at large has been clamoring considering the maelstrom of rumors to circulate the last few weeks.

For those of you who missed Bethesda's conference, here's a comprehensive breakdown of all the newest games and announcements coming our way over the next year:

Bethesda VR

With the upcoming renaissance in gaming arriving in the form of VR, Bethesda plans to take their better known properties into this new frontier. They plan to incorporate the latest incarnation of DOOM with virtual reality capability, as well as Fallout 4, which will be available on the HTC Vive as of 2017.

Dishonored 2

Likely the most anticipated release on Bethesda's upcoming roster, Dishonored 2 is the inevitable sequel to 2012's hit action adventure. Taking place years after the events of the first game, the focus of the story is now on both the grown up Emily Caldwin, as well as her previous mentor, Corvo Attano, seeking their own brand of vengeance in the Empire of the Isles. The sequel will also be released in a limited collector's edition, which is available to preorder.

DOOM- "Unto the Evil" DLC

The latest installment to the DOOM franchise was a roaring success. It only makes sense that this year would make way for some brand new downloadable content. The new expansions will include new multiplayer maps, Exodus and Sector, as well as three new free-for-all modes, which will be playable to everyone. If that wasn't enough, the first level of DOOM will be made available to download for free as an E3 exclusive for the next week only!

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim- Remastered

According to a recent podcast, a rumor has been circulated that Bethesda would be announcing a remastered edition to 2011's critically acclaimed Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It was just confirmed by Bethesda that those rumors were well founded and a remaster will be imminent. The update boasts playable console mods and a higher quality environment rendering with a far more dynamic field of vision.

Elder Scrolls: Legends

Last year, Bethesda announced the card game experience, Elder Scrolls: Legends. The recent conference announced that the game is now well on is way and is slated to release later this year.

Elder Scrolls: Online- "Dark Brotherhood/One Tamriel"

As of June 23rd, Elder Scrolls: Online will be expanding internationally to Japan. Along with the game's new global reach, you'll be able to explore the realm of Tamriel with absolutely NO level restrictions, leaving it completely open to anyone past the tutorial mode.

Fallout 4- "Nuka World" DLC

Fallout 4, one of the highest grossing games of 2015, left fans begging for more. The open world action RPG will now include much more possibilities to customize and play in your workshop, as well as the ability to build and equip your very own shelter base in any way you see fit. The new DLC will also include an addition to the story mode known as 'Nuka World', a theme park environment adapted heavily from the Fallout lore.

Prey

The reboot to the decade old Prey was finally announced. A haunting experience and a worthy successor to its original, 'Prey' will place you into a futuristic world where reality is a thing of the past. You must dig through the barrage of enemies and environments to unlock the secrets of your past from within a world ravaged by a dangerously mysterious alien threat.

Quake: Champions

Twenty years ago, Quake set a new standard for multiplayer gameplay. By popular demand, a new multiplayer experience is on the way. The reboot offers never before seen maps and creatures, as well as a entirely new arsenal of weapons and armor with which to quench your bloodlust.
