E3 2016: Bethesda has revived Prey; slated for 2017

Back from the dead.

Years ago, Arkane Studios was working on a sequel to a little game called Prey. Prey 2 was revealed in 2008, and was set to follow a U.S. Marshal whose plane crash lands on the “Sphere”. The marshal is than abducted and has most of his memory wiped and he becomes a bounty hunter on a planet called Exodus. Sounds pretty cool right? Well, Bethesda cancelled it many years later after some troubled development. According to some leaked emails, the game passed through many hands from Arkane to Obsidian and Human Head Studios, but it never met the quality standards of Bethesda. All we were left with were some previews from lucky people who got to see the cancelled title. Until now, at tonight’s E3 press conference Bethesda revealed that Prey is very much alive and is coming very soon!

The game isn't the Prey 2 we remember, in fact it's a full blown reboot and is being titled just Prey. Not Prey 2, just Prey. The game will feature a new character named Morgan Yu and he seems to be set in a world where he does the same thing every single day until something goes terribly wrong. They didn't give much info on the plot of the game but promise more details at Quakecon and a 2017 release date.
