E3 2016: Dead Rising 4 is a timed exclusive for Microsoft

When presenting at E3, Microsoft is usually very clear about what games are exclusive and what aren't. Before each game, a man with an incredibly deep voice says "Exclusively on Xbox One" if it's an exclusive. At E3 2016, this was not the case with Dead Rising 4, one of the only newly announced games at Microsoft's conference that is not an exclusive.

It left some of scratching our heads when the trailer premiered with no sign of it being exclusive, it made us wonder if the game would be a timed exclusive or would release on other platforms at launch. Now we have our answer thanks to a Neogaf user who got to see the game in action and talked to a Capcom employee.

"Capcom Vancouver is developing, MS is publishing. 1 year exclusive with MS. Slightly different deal than DR3." reports the user, but it's unclear if it'll move to PS4 once the exclusivity is up or if it'll go on platforms like Steam.

Dead Rising 4 is set to release this December with Frank West returning as the main character. The game will be set around Christmas time and will return players to the location of the first game but will allow you to explore more than just the mall that Frank was trapped in.
