E3 2016: Hyperkin’s Smart Boy turns your mobile into a Game Boy!

Soon there will be no need to dabble around with emulators, no need to dig out your old Nintendo handhelds for nostalgia, because Hyperkin's new Smart Boy gives your smartphone a Game Boy cartridge slot.

The product – as pictured above – was first set to be moulded around the Apple iPhone but it would seem that the demo version that Hyperkin has been showing customers at E3 is in fact holding a Samsung.

From the photographs that have been released so far, it would appear that mobile devices will be able to click into the Smart Boy in order to play games, with the cartridges slotting in the back of the holder.

Hyperkin is working towards a release window of December for their Smart Boy device, with more details to be revealed in the coming months.
