E3 2016: Nintendo reveals Extended Pokemon Sun & Moon gameplay… and more

They showed us A LOT today

Pokemon Sun and Moon gameplay was not the only thing that Nintendo wanted to show us at E3. It was also announced that Sun and Moon's release will mark the beginning of a new game mode for Pokemon, called Pokemon Battle Royal.

This will be a free-for-all game mode involving up to four players. Each Pokemon trainer will battle it out until one trainer runs out of Pokemon to battle with. In such event, the game will tally up the number of Pokemon taken down by each competitor and the winner will be the trainer that conquered the most.

It's a totally new concept that has not been revealed until today's E3 press conference, with the intention of connecting more and more people that play Pokemon.

Check out the brand new trailer below:

Pokemon Sun and Moon are expected to release on November 18th of this year, available on 3DS platform.

Nintendo's E3 press conference gave Pokemon fans across the world a chance to see an extended look at Pokemon Sun & Moon gameplay, with a few surprises!

Up to now, Nintendo has not shown us any new Pokemon in action, aside from the starter Pokemon of course. However, during this Treehouse event gamers got to see a few of the new Pokemon in action.

The Pokemon featured in the image above is called Yungoos, but that wasn't the only debut, a wild Pikipek – a woodpecker type Pokemon – also showed up. The Nintendo panel announced a fun fact about Pikipek too, it can peck 16 times per second!

Nintendo's reveal of gameplay was lengthy but did not give away any storyline elements. Check out a few screenshots below:
