The Surge is a Sci-Fi Action RPG created by Deck 13, developers of Lords of the Fallen about a factory employee in a mechanized exoskeleton suit slicing and dicing his way through CREO, an institution that whose sole purpose is to save the world, but obviously that doesn't exactly work out.

The game's overarching narrative revolves around an Earth that is seeing the full blown effects of Global Warming, and the company CREO has been created to reverse its effects. Once its plans start failing, the company begins looking inward to save itself. After something within the company goes horribly wrong under mysterious circumstances, you the player are tasked with diving deeper into the mega-corporation to figure out what went wrong and how to stop it.

The Surge's combat system focuses on a limb dismemberment system and interchanging armor and makeshift weapons on your mechanical exosuit to gain an edge in battle.

Here are the game's key features:

  • Tight, visceral hardcore action RPG combat with make-shift industrial weapons
  • A unique dismemberment and upgrade system utilizing cybernetic implants
  • Fight in a dystopian world full of mystery and learn about the events surrounding The Surge
  • Battle an array of huge industrial bosses
  • Craft, upgrade and build new weapons with loot and blueprints

The Surge is set to release on PC and consoles sometime in 2017, so keep it glued to GameZone for more details on the game.
