E3 2016: Ubisoft unveils ‘Star Trek: Bridge Crew’ for VR

Will it include the Kobayashi Maru test? One can only hope...

The Ubisoft conference for E3 2016 was full of gaming announcements that are leaving everyone everywhere on the edge of their seat. Fortunately, Ubisoft could not have chosen a better seat than that of a captain's chair.

Red Storm Entertainment, Ubisoft's studio known best for their Tom Clancy series, has revealed one of their submissions into the growing library of virtual reality gaming, Star Trek: Bridge Crew. Taking place in the JJ Abrams rebooted Trek-verse, you will be given the authority of a captain, or the rank of tactical, helmsman, or engineering aboard your very own starship, the Aegis, on a continuing mission to explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and boldly go where no one has gone before.

The game will center on how you choose to lead your crew. You can be more analytical and strategic like Spock, or go down the path of "cowboy diplomacy" like Kirk. Whatever your style, you can be in command and you call the shots. Playable with up to three other players, the game lets you use any of the commands and equipment featured in the films to further the peaceful cause the Federation.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew releases this fall and will be available on Playstation VR, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive!
