E3 will begin this weekend with a handful of press conference but the showfloor will officially open next week. When the doors open, a variety of games will be available for attendees to play including highly anticipated games like Call of Duty: WWII and probably a number of unannounced games.
Before the doors open, Activision has released a handful of details regarding which of their upcoming games will be on the showfloor. Fans can expect to get their hands on Destiny 2, Call of Duty: WWII, and the imminent Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy!
Call of Duty fans will get a first look at the new Divisions feature in CoD: WWII's multiplayer. This will somewhat replace create-a-class and will allow players to pick a character type based on their playstyle. You can view the five divisions below.
It seems as if this will be Sledgehammer's way of implementing character based special abilities similar to Black Ops 3 and Infinite Warfare. Players will also get hands-on with the new mode titled 'War'. The mode developed alongside Raven Software is a massive battle of Axis and Allies across iconic locations. This a team based mode that requires teamwork to complete various objectives. Each match will have a player driven narrative with an outcome determined by how the match plays.
We'll also get an in-depth look at the new Headquarters mode (not to be confused with the mode from Call of Duty 4). It'll serve as a social area where players can compete, show-off gear and awards, and just hang out and meet new people to party up with.
Activision also promises that new details regarding the game's beta will be revealed at E3. Players can go hands on at the Activision Booth (South Hall #1001) and the PlayStation Booth (West Hall #4322).
As for Destiny 2, players will get to play both some of the campaign and the multiplayer which will feature a new Guardian sub-class. Activision also promises we will get details on the Destiny 2 beta
Destiny 2 will be available on PS4 at the Activision Booth (South Hall #1001) and the PlayStation Booth (West Hall #4322), as well as on PC at the NVIDIA Booth (West Hall #5230).
Finally, if you're dying to play a bunch of old Crash games on PS4 a few weeks before it officially releases, you can do that too. Activision will be bringing the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy to fans at E3 and a man dressed up as Crash Bandicoot will be strolling around in the area, waiting for you to take a selfie with him.
They also promise that there will be a special Crash announcement at E3 but we can't really imagine what that might be! The Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy will be playable in the South Hall Lobby near the orange carpet.
The Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy releases exclusively on PS4 on June 30th, 2017, Call of Duty: WWII releases on November 3rd, 2017 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC, and Destiny 2 releases on September 8th, 2017 for Xbox One and PS4. A PC version will be released at a later date.
