E3 2017: Geoff Keighley confirms Xbox’s Project Scorpio will cost $499

For months people have been speculating the price of Microsoft's most powerful console, Project Scorpio. We knew it would be somewhat expensive as it has been labled as a "premium" product and of course, it's the console equivilant of a competent gaming PC so the hardware makes it a bit pricey.

Many have been specualting it'll come in at $399 due to the fact it's not too expensive but it doesn't downplay how powerful the console is. Some think it'll be priced at $499, similar to the original Xbox One at launch. It seems like a slippery slope to go that way as Xbox One had a rocky launch and left a bad taste in some people's mouths. For the next few hours, speculation will continue until the Xbox press conference kicks off at 5 PM EDT.

However… the one and only Geoff Keighley who has been involved with setting up events for E3 has tweeted out what seems like a confirmation of the price for Project Scorpio which is… $499.

The way his tweet is worded makes it seem as if someone involved with the Microsoft press conference gave him the information ahead of time. Of course, he could be screwing with us but we will find out in a few hours.
