E3 2017: Metroid: Samus Returns announced for 3DS; Gameplay revealed

We didn't just get one Metroid announcement from Nintendo today, oh no, we actually got two Metroid announcements. Nintendo followed up their announcement for Metroid Prime 4 being in development for the Nintendo Switch with a follow-up announcement of Metroid: Samus Returns for the 3DS.

The trailer came with the following description:

Metroid: Samus Returns is an action-packed, side-scrolling shooter which has been remade to include engaging and immersive 3D visuals and a rich, atmospheric color palette. Metroid: Samus Returns launches September 15, 2017.

It's safe to say that Nintendo killed their E3 2017 presentation!
