E3 2017: Sea of Thieves gets epic gameplay demo and ‘Early 2018’ release window at Xbox’s presser

Get ready to sail the high seas in March 2018.

Two years ago, the world was introduced to Sea of Thieves during Microsoft’s E3 2015 press conference in what was essentially a small concept video. Development, by today’s standards, has been slow, as this is now the third E3 that Sea of Thieves has attended. Fortunately, it is also the last.

Rare took to the stage to show a different side of Sea of Thieves this time around, whereas virtually everything to this point has been about PVP between Pirate crews at sea, the game will also feature some slight elements involving supernatural creatures.

Rare had previously teased undead creatures as AI enemies in the past, and it certainly adds a new dynamic to the game. As you probably already know, Sea of Thieves has been in a Closed Alpha state for the last six months, and development will continue to be on-going.

It’s been a long wait for Xbox One fans, but given how incredible this E3 conference has been to this point, better times are just over the horizon.
