E3 2018: Fortnite is out now on Nintendo Switch

Finally!

UPDATE: Fortnite is out NOW on Nintendo Switch and includes cross-play with Xbox One, PC, Mac and mobile. You can download the game from the eShop starting right now. You can view the trailer above.

If you play the game on PlayStation 4 and want to log in with your Epic account on Switch, you won’t be able to as Sony has prohibited players from carrying over their account to Nintendo Switch. You can still play the game on Nintendo Switch but you must start from scratch.

The original story follows:

It’s been rumored for a very long time now, it has been leaked several times, and it seems it’s finally happening. Fortnite is coming to Nintendo Switch tomorrow according to this leak from the Nintendo eShop.

Fortnite will finally make its way to the Nintendo Switch tomorrow likely after Nintendo’s E3 press briefing and will be available from the eShop for free. It’ll take up 2 GBs on your SD card, it looks like it’s just exclusively battle royale and that there will be microtransactions and other add-on content right out of the gate so get your wallets ready if you’re a fanatic and want all those whacky outfits and gear.

We don’t know what the situation is on cross-play or if you can connect your Epic account to get your gear from other platforms but we’ll likely get the full details tomorrow afternoon during Nintendo’s E3 briefing.

Fortnite is out now on Xbox One, PS4, PC, and mobile devices.
