E3 2018: SEGA brings Yakuza 0, Kiwami and Valkyria Chronicles 4 to the PC

The PCGamer’s E3 PC Gaming Show is happening right now and Japanese publisher SEGA brought the goods. After long years of teasing, SEGA finally announced they would bring their Yakuza franchise to the PC platform. Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami were unveiled together with Valkyria Chronicles 4, to come to PC.

Usually not a place for triple-A publishers to reveal their best and newest first, it’s a rather slow and more in-depth show, lacking the flash of other E3 shows. It’s a show where titles with lower marketing budgets, often indie and AA games take advantage of the E3 excitement to promote their games.

Yakuza 0

And sometimes big publishers use the stage to unveil PC ports. Such was what SEGA did today by blowing the audience away with not one, two but three major reveals. Cult action-adventure series Yakuza is coming with two of its entries. Yakuza 0, a prequel to the very first Yakuza game from 2005, featuring the series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu’s origin, first came out in 2015 on the PS4 in Japan, with a release in the west in 2017. Yakuza 0 is set to release this August and is already being available for pre-purchase with a 10% discount currently.

Yakuza Kiwami

The second Japanese mobster simulator to arrive on PC,  Yakuza Kiwami, is a modern remake of the first Yakuza, originally from 2016 in Japan and 2017 in the west on PS4. No release date was given.

Valkyria Chronicles 4

The third major game to be announced getting a PC version release was Valkyria Chroincles 4.  The Japanese tactial-action RPG was first announced late last year for PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Fans on the PC were disappointed that their platform was the only one missing out on the action. Especially since the late port of the original Valkyria Chronicles was a surprise hit on PC. Today the wait ended and VC4 is set to release on PC this year along the other platforms.

All three games already have their storepages on Steam. Check them out!
