E3 2018: Shadow of the Tomb Raider gets intense new gameplay demo

Lara Croft goes Rambo.

Since Square Enix rebooted Tomb Raider in 2013, we’ve seen Lara Croft overcome deadly obstacles, destroy evil organizations, and deal with personal issues to ultimately become the Tomb Raider. In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Lara Croft will finally truly become the Tomb Raider as she attempts to stop the apocalypse from happening.

In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Lara will be thrown into a world on the verge of collapsing and she must do whatever it takes to save humanity. At Square Enix’s E3 briefing, they showed an extensive gameplay demo for the game which showcases the guerilla warfare-like combat/stealth systems in a deadly jungle.

Lara will be using shadows, mud, trees, and much more to hide from her enemies and kill them with malicious takedowns and improvised weapons. You can view the demo below.

We also got a new trailer yesterday that showcases Lara Croft’s struggle to accept responsibility for her reckless actions. Only time will tell if she crumbles under the pressure or can rise to the occasion to earn the title of the Tomb Raider.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is out on September 14th on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
