E3 2018: Square Enix locks Kingdom Hearts III in for January 2019 release

This is not a drill.

For many of us, we’ve been waiting most of our lives to play Kingdom Hearts III. For a while, we had to wait for it to even be announced and then we had to wait to know when we could play it. Now, we finally know and it’s not super far away.

After ages of waiting, an absurd amount of trailers, screenshots, and interviews with many more to come in 2018, we’ll all be able to play Kingdom Hearts III on January 29th, 2019. Yes, this is real. This isn’t a placeholder from a retailer, a rumor, or anything else. This is straight from the horse’s mouth! Square Enix made the announcement very late at night, making most of us writers roll out of bed to write the announcement but at least we won’t be left wondering anymore.

While many may be bummed this won’t hit in 2018, it at least has a date and Square Enix seems pretty confident in their ability to hit it. With that said, we’ll all be able to visit the worlds of Monsters Inc, Toy Story, and more that will be revealed over the course of 2018. Square Enix has also said that they have several Kingdom Hearts III trailers to roll out throughout E3 this week so be on the lookout for those, we’ll be sure to post them here on GameZone as soon as we have them.

With the news, Remy, the rat foodie from Disney’s animated film Ratatouille, will appear in the highly anticipated game. We’re not sure to what extent but we’ll likely find out sometime during E3. What worlds would you like to see included in Kingdom Hearts III? Let us know in the comments below.

Kingdom Hearts III will launch on January 29th, 2019 for Xbox One and PS4. No PC version has been announced at this time.
