E3 2018: Ubisoft debuts The Division 2 gameplay; Set in Washington DC

If D.C. falls, so does the entire nation.

Today at Xbox’s E3 press conference, Ubisoft debuted their first look at the sequel to their MMO-like third-person shooter, The Division with a brand new demo. It looks like The Division 2 will expand more on the first game and refine the various elements of the original instead of creating an entirely different experience.

The Division 2 will move agents from New York to the heart of America with Washington DC in the aftermath of the virus breakout. Seven months after the events of the first game, America is still on the brink of collapse and it’s up to you to make sure it doesn’t fall completely and rebuild. Your fight will take you to the remains of Air Force One, the capitol building, and likely other landmarks in the fractured version of Washington DC.

Ubisoft promises “a substantial campaign that organically flows into a robust endgame, to create a cohesive and meaningful experience for all types of players” meaning it’ll be a fulfilling experience for those who prefer to play solo or in groups. It’s unclear if your progress will carry over from the first game or if there’ll be any loyalty benefits for returning to players.

You can view the gameplay demo below.

The Division 2 hits on March 15th, 2019 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. You can click here to register now for a chance to gain access to the beta coming before launch.
