Announced during the Xbox E3 press show, one of the most influential horror movies is getting a game adaptation with Blair Witch. The game adapatation will be a first-person horror game and is set to come out this year, on August 30th for Xbox One and PC. Check out the trailer!
It’s 1996. A young boy disappears in the Black Hills Forest near Burkittsville, Maryland. As Ellis, a former police officer with a troubled past, you join the search. What starts as an ordinary investigation soon turns into an endless nightmare as you confront your fears and the Blair Witch, a mysterious force that haunts the woods…
Blair Witch Project is an original psychological horror film which came at the tail end of the 1990s and single-handedly kickstarted the found-footage horror movie sub-genre which is still alive well today. While the first movie was without a doubt the most interesting entry, two more movies followed. With a quasi reboot in 2016.
Now, gamers won’t have to wait for much longer to experience the disturbing tale of an ex-cop who gets lost in the woods during a missing person search. Simply titled Blair Witch, the game adaptation is a first-person horror adventure akin to genre classics like Amnesia and Resident Evil 7.
Blair Witch is coming out this August 30th for PC and Xbox One.
