Japanese publisher and developer Square Enix is following the trend of remastering their immense catalog of legendary games with yet another cult entry. Final Fantasy 8 is finally becoming available for modern audiences in form of a remaster which is going to come out this year for the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The Final Fantasy series is synonymous with the JRPG genre and especially the PlayStation 1 trilogy of the 7th, 8th and 9th entries into the long-standing franchise have cemented themselves as cult JRPG games.
There’s no question that with the full-on remake of the seventh Final Fantasy, most attention is put on that game, but that shouldn’t mean Final Fantasy 8 can get overlooked. It’s true that a real remake would have been welcomed but maybe that one will happen after the Final Fantasy 7 Remake. For now, we are thrilled that the classic Final Fantasy 8 will be easily accessible for pretty much every gamers out there.
