Bethesda had few surprises during their E3 press conference. One of those is the new project by legendary game creator Shinji Mikami. GhostWire: Tokyo is pitting players against a mysterious demon plague in the Japanese metropolis. Here’s the reveal trailer!
Shinji Mikami is at it again with his studio Tango Gameworks. The developer’s newest project is called GhostWire: Tokyo and takes place in the titular Japanese capital. The city has suffered a mysterious plague in form of demons. Furthermore, the population has disappeared in a similar curious way. It’s now up to the player to fight the supernatural evil beings, rid Tokyo of the demon infestation and bring back its citizens.
Details are slim at the moment. There’s no release date as of yet and likewise there’s no info on the target platforms. But seeing Tango Gameworks’ past games, it’s a safe bet that the game will be released for all major platforms. From what the CG trailer shows us, we can deduct that combat will play an important role, especially bow and arrow, as that was the weapon of choice of the hero in the video.
Mikami is following in the footsteps of his last horror-themed action-adventure game duology, The Evil Within. And to be frank, if the creator of the modern survival-horror genre is announcing a new project, everyone needs to listen up.
Stay tuned for more details about GhostWire: Tokyo.
