E3 2019: Ubisoft launches Uplay+ game subscription

If there was any doubt that gaming subscription are going to play a major role in the future of gaming, today they got a little smaller. Ubisoft is the next big gaming company to launch their own gaming subscription with Uplay+. The service will launch on the PC in the first phase with more platforms happening in the future likely.

Uplay+ will offer its subscribers similar offers as the likes of the Xbox Game Pass, by giving instant access to over 100 games off the get-go. More games will follow steadily over time, with Ubisoft’s own titles and select third-party ones becoming available Day 1.

The service is being priced at $14.99 and thus falls short to the competition which will no doubt make its success a bit more difficult. One interesting detail about Uplay+ is the fact that it will also be available on Google Stadia, Googles own gaming service. The cloud-based gaming platform will receive some great value by Ubisoft’s own service no doubt.

Uplay+ is set to go live this September 3rd and will immediately give access to over 100 titles – new and old – among which are Ubisoft’s entire catalog, even the newest heavy hitters like Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, Ghost Recon: Wildlands and The Division 2. The newly unveiled Watch Dogs: Legion will appear Day 1 as well.

You can try out Uplay+ on the PC for free for the entirety of September if you register until August 3rd, and if you want to subscribe, you will be relieved to learn that you can cancel the sub anytime in the future.

Head on over to the Uplay+ homepage to learn more about the service and register for a free month.
