E3 may leaving Los Angeles in 2013?

The Electronic Entertainment Expo, E3, is one of the most anticipated events of every year for gamers. For the past 16 years E3 has taken place in Los Angeles, California but in 2013 it may have to relocate somewhere else due to construction. Micheal Gallagher, president of the Entertainment Software Assn said, "We're still in discussions with the city of Los Angeles," Gallagher said in an interview with LA Times "but we have a number of issues that still need to be resolved. If we can't resolve them, we are preparing to go elsewhere."

Last year the Entertainment Software Assn said they were uncertain about renewing its contract to stage E3 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, citing the remodeling of the convention center to make way for Farmers Field as the main source of discomfort around hosting E3 there. The main concerns, however, are focused on how accessible the the convention center would be during construction and how much floor space would be available.

"We need assurances on things like square footage, the quality of the space, the ease of loading and unloading equipment, signage throughout the convention center for marketing and sponsorships," he said. "We love being in Los Angeles, but we also have a show to put on."

No one has identified a certain area that E3 could relocate to but some cities have been mentioned, San Francisco, New York, Chicago and New Orleans have been listed. All I know is that where ever it may go, gamers are sure to follow.
