Fuse, the co-op shooter from EA and Insomniac Games, will get an action-packed demo on Xbox LIVE Marketplace and PlayStation Network on May 7, Electronic Arts announced today.
The demo will allow for online co-op with up to four players, or two-player split-screen action. In the demo, players will play as one of four elite operatives — Dalton Brooks, Izzy Sinclair, Jacob Kimble and Naya Deveraux. This mission is to protect mankind from Fuse, a deadly alien energy source that's been stolen by Raven, a rogue paramilitary organization. Each character has a unique set of skills and weapons, and players will be able to try them out in a weapon depot set in a snowy environment as they try to track down a source of Fuse.
"When it comes to Fuse, the biggest thing we’ve noticed when sharing it with others for the first time is that playing is believing,” said Ted Price, CEO and founder of Insomniac Games. “Fuse takes four player co-op in a new direction with features you won’t find in other third person shooters: from LEAP where you can jump between each of the four unique agents at will to the experimental Xenotech weapons to the deep RPG-like character progression system. And by the way, all of these features rock for solo players as well."
The online co-op does require an Origin account, so make sure you create one if you don't have one already.
Fuse launches on May 28 for PS3 and Xbox 360.
