EA details NCAA Football 14’s Ultimate Team mode

In April we learned that NCAA Football 14 will include its own Ultimate Team mode this year. For those unfamiliar, the Ultimate Team is EA's long-standing mode that combines elements of a collectible card game with that of the traditional sports gameplay. In it, you assemble a team of players — from an assortment of cards — and use those players in on-the-field matches when playing against opponents.

Today, EA Sports explained just how the Ultimate Team mode will work in NCAA Football 14. At launch, your roster will be assembled from a collection of 1,400 former college football greats. You'll compete in a 10-game head-to-head season mode, which will conclude with a final tournament. Along the way, you will earn rewards that will help you build the ultimate team of superstars. Like the Ultimate Team mode in other EA Sports titles, you'll be able to collect star players, set lineups, and complete collections to earn coins, special packs, or rare players and items.

NCAA Football 14 is set to launch on July 9 for Xbox 360 and PS3.
