EA: DICE ‘well into development’ on Star Wars: Battlefront

Despite the lack of information regarding the recently teased Star Wars: Battlefront game, EA assured investors that DICE is "well into development" on the highly anticipated shooter. EA Games Label president Frank Gibeau gave a very brief update of DICE's progress on the title during EA's Q1 FY14 earnings call this week.

"We showed 22 seconds of where we're going with it and the fan response was very positive," Gibeau said. "The DICE team is well into development on that product already, so we feel very bullish about our shooter rotation over the next several years."

Gibeau also confirmed the new Star Wars: Battlefront will have "a third-person component to it," suggesting it will retain the previous games' option to switch between first and third-person view.
