EA Sports' chief financial officer has confirmed that they will be launching a brand new Battelfield title during the year of 2016.
During the company's latest investor call Blake Jorgensen insisted that Electronic Arts – a developer well known for its sports titles – are looking to push another type of title moving forward.
When pressed by an investor, Mr Jorgensen said: "What we've said is that our intention over the next couple of years is to have a first-person shooter as one of the core titles. This year, obviously, it's Star Wars Battlefront. Next year, it's another Battlefield title."
With Star Wars Battlefront obviously taking centre-stage in 2015 with its promotion at E3 and so on, many gamers will be hoping that this new Battlefield title will really take off in 2016.
The latest Battlefield title, Battlefield Hardline, was released in March 2015 and was pretty well received by our team. In fact, you can head over to our game review by clicking here!
