Just hours ahead of launch, Electronic Arts and DICE announced a series of game adjustments made to Star Wars Battlefront based on the game's recent beta. While you can expect more balance adjustments in the coming weeks as DICE gathers feedback based on live gameplay, here are some of the changes that have been made ahead of launch.
First of, they've tweaked the partner and party system with the aim to make it easy and smooth to play with friends. They've done several tweaks to this and it will now be possible to join a friend via the Xbox Friends app, as well as see your party friends in-game; although, you won't be able to spawn on them.
Speaking of spawning, EA has slightly changed the spawning system on Hoth, adding combat areas that are different for Rebels and Imperials to mitigate spawn camping. Spawn distances for the two teams have also been adjusted on the first uplink.
Vehicles and weapons have also been tweaked for balance purposes. Both the AT-AT and AT-ST have had "weak spots" added to them.
And lastly, in an effort to make playing as heroes and villains feel "truly special," they've removed the automatic damage done to heroes over time, and the ability of getting health back when killing enemies.
Star Wars Battlefront is set to release at midnight on Tuesday, November 17th.
