EA’s Origin store switching to entirely digital downloads

We’re living in a digital world now. EA knows this and due to this fact they will no longer be selling physical copies of their games through Origin. As of April 4th, the Origin store will be strictly digital. Don’t you fret though, if you someone who likes to have their physical copies of games, you’ll still be able to purchase EA games, just not from Origin. Will you still need to use Origin to play them though? Absolutely.

According to Origin, 99% of their store users already shop digitally so it’s only really that 1% that will have to adapt. “Digital is fast and convenient. Origin’s focus is to give gamers the best experience, and going all-digital will make that possible.” So there you have, get your download speed cranking for all future Origin store purchases.
