EA spent less than 25% of their E3 conference last year showing actual gameplay

E3 is one of, if not the greatest times of the year for gamers. Conferences are packed with excitement and anticipation, but there's one thing that can derail them in a hurry; excessive talking. Fortunately, things have gotten better over the years, as most major companies tend to let their games do the talking, but according to the folks at Easy Allies, EA spent way too much time last year flapping their gums. In one of their recent podcasts, they did an in-depth analysis on the percentages of gameplay shown versus the amount of talking for each of the major conferences.

Here's the breakdown via NeoGAF user brawly:

  • Bethesda: 50.2% (29:33/58:55)

  • EA: 24.1% (13:33/56:15)

  • Microsoft: 55.7% (49:52/1:29:35)

  • Ubisoft: 51.8% (1:00:35/2:00:00)

  • Sony: 70.6% (53:43/1:16:35)

Nintendo's percentage was listed in the second post at 96%, which makes sense given the hours upon hours they spent showing off Breath of the Wild last year. Given that EA plans to showcase a 40-player multiplayer match of Star Wars: Battlefront II, there's reason to hope that they can get that percentage a bit closer to that 50% mark that most seem to be sticking around.

Earlier today, EA also revealed their EA Play lineup, which will consist of eight games. EA Play 2017 is going down this Saturday, June 10th at 12:00pm–1:30pm PT.
