EA takes shot at Zynga’s Ville with new SimCity Social trailer

"More City, Less Ville". That's the slogan EA is using in their newest trailer for SimCity Social, a new city building game available on Facebook.

The new motto for SimCity Social clearly takes aim at Zynga's new Facebook game, The Ville. And is it any coincidence that this new trailer for SimCity Social was released just a day after the announcement for The Ville? I think not. EA clearly has it out for Zynga and The Ville.

SimCity Social is basically a watered down incarnation of its city-building simulator. It brings "real city-building simulation to the masses, giving players the freedom to create sprawling cities that come to life as a result of player-driven choice." In the game, cities will evolve based on user choice. It's very similar to the new SimCity, due out early next year, which also adds multiplayer and does so with much more depth.

Anyways, this new "tongue in cheek trailer" celebrates the launch of SimCity Social's open beta with a "sense of humor and playfulness that have been the earmarks of Maxis for more than 25 years." Or it just takes a blatant shot at Zynga.

Settle down everybody. At the end of the day they are both sh*tty Facebook games.
