EA throws Origin ‘Player Appreciation Sale,’ Over 200 titles up to 70% off

For as much as people complain about EA's digital distribution service, Origin, there sure are a lot using it — perhaps it's because there is really no other choice. Either way, Origin now boasts more than 39 million registered, Electronic Arts confirmed during their Q3 Earnings Conference Call. Over two million gamers have registered in January alone.

So with that, EA is giving their supporters something back — and I'm not talking about a free game for the SimCity fiasco. EA is hosting an Origin "Player Appreciation Sale." During this one week sale, more than 200 titles will be up to 70% off. Better yet, the sale isn't strictly limited to PC-only, which means you can get some of the titles for Xbox 360 or PS3, as well.

To give you an idea of what to expect, below are some current discounts:

Game Regular Price Discounted Price
Battlefield 3 $49.99 $24.99
Crysis 3 $59.99 $29.99
Dead Space 3 $59.99 $29.99
Mass Effect 3 $19.99 $9.99
The Walking Dead $24.99 $10.00
FIFA Soccer 13 $39.99 $19.99
Assassin's Creed 3 $49.99 $34.99
The Sims 3 University Life $39.99 $27.99

Check out the sale here.
