Electronic Arts and Grasshopper Manufacture today announced Shadows of the Damned.

Shadow of the Damned is the latest coming from Suda51 (No More Heroes, Killer7) and Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil). It’s a “psychological action thriller” according to EA. Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill) will be composing the music.

The game is about motorcycle-riding a demon hunter named Garcia wandering into hell to “rescue the love of his life by defeating teh armies of darkness witht he power of light,” says EA’s press release.

Suda51 said, “We are excited to finally take the cover off our latest project and invite gamers from around the globe to experience this new, warped world we have created. By partnering with EA, a publisher that truly shares our commitment to quality and innovation, we have been able to develop Shadows of the Damned according to our ambitious vision while creating an entertainment property we believe will appeal to a global audience.”

Mikami, who is serving as creative producer, said,”With Shadows of the Damned, gamers will fight for love in the most difficult arena imaginable … hell. Players will find themselves surrounded by demons set on destroying their heart and soul. Only the strong will survive.”

The game is set for a Summer 2011 release on Xbox 360 and PS3.
