It seems like moviegoers have reason to be cautiously optimistic about the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean 5. According to those attending an early screening, it's "the best one since the first"
While the movie isn't set for release for another two months Disney held an exclusive screening for members of the press and theaters owners during the studio’s CinemaCon presentation last week, though reviews are still under embargo the reactions on Twitter gives this movie hope.
The franchise was already on the decline when the third was released and the fourth film, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, almost made it look like the golden age of piracy on the big screen was over. Making Johnny Depp the main character instead of having him as support was not a great move for Pirates 4, and it seems like Disney has learned from all of their mistakes with the last movie and steered the franchise out of strange tides into pleasant waters.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales releases in theaters on May 26th.
Bellow follows some Twitter reactions to the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean film:
Pirates 5 is definitely the best one since the first. Admittedly, that isn't saying much but it does occasionally capture that magic.
