Earth &
Beyond To Be At GenCon 2002
Public test discs to be
distributed at show and at cyber café event
LAS VEGAS,
NV (August 7, 2002) –
Westwood Studios(tm) announced today it will be distributing
Earth & Beyond public test discs
at GenCon 2002.
Earth & Beyond is an online
role-playing galaxy that will be published by EA (NASDAQ:ERTS) under the EA
GAMES(tm) brand this fall.
Earth & Beyond
will be found at booth 1055 in the exhibit hall, all three days of the show.
In addition, Westwood is partnering with Origin Systems to host a event at
Cyber Central, 4160 South 108th St. in Greenfield. At the Cyber Central
event, Earth & Beyond will be
shown along side
Ultima Online: Lord
Blackthorn’s Revenge, and attendees will meet
Earth & Beyond lead designer Chris
Klug and community manager Maria Hamilton. All attendees to the Cyber Central
event will also receive a public test disc.
Westwood
currently is conducting a public test of
Earth & Beyond with thousands of people playing every day.
Thousands of additional testers will be selected in August, and anyone wishing
to participate in the public test can sign up online at
www.earthandbeyond.com.
Gamers who
pre-purchase the retail version of Earth &
Beyond at Electronics Boutique,
www.ebgames.com, GameStop, or
www.gamestop.com, will be
automatically included in the public test without having to sign up at the
official Earth & Beyond
website.
In
Earth & Beyond, players become the
captain of their own starship and live star-spanning adventures as they
explore, trade and fight with thousands of others.
Testers will be part of the creation process and will see the universe take
shape around them as the developers add more sectors, planets, missions,
quests, monsters, characters, features, evolving plot lines and more.
