Electronic Art’s souped-up game subscription service Origin Access Premier is available as of now. The premium tier subscription offers even the newest full-price games for only $14.99/month or $99.99/year. Head over to the Origin Access website to subscribe.
We have long reported on Electronic Art’s plans to expand the publisher’s game service Origin Access. EA’s service first went live in 2016 and offered exclusive discounts on EA’s digital distribution platform Origin on the PC. Apart from that, subscribers got access to The Vault, a library of EA’s and third-party games available on Origin. Old and more recent, but nothing bleeding edge.
During this year’s E3, EA let the cat out of the bag and announced a new tier to their Origin Access service. Origin Access Premier promised all benefits from the previous plan but added a major factor in offering even the newest game releases from EA to its subscribers.
After learning from an EA executive last week that the launch of Origin Access Premier was imminent, all we needed was a word on pricing. With today’s launch that part of the mystery is finally solved as well. Below, you can see both subscription plans, their benefits and pricing.
Since the games offered in both Basic and Premier are only available to users as long as they are subscribed, the 10% discount in the store is useful for those who want to keep a game forever.
EA also revealed the first batch of games available exclusively for Origin Access Premier users. A Way Out, Unravel Two, Star War Battlefront II, The Sims 4 Bundle are all available right now. Madden NFL 19, FIFA 19, Battlefield V and Anthem will all be added to Premier once they release.
Subscribers of the previous Origin Access service who are not interested in upgrading to Premier will automatically become users of Origin Access Basic.
