With Injustice: Gods Among Us coming out only two days ago, the happy fans want to know if this DC fighting game could reach a franchise level? Just yesterday, during the Injustice release party, Taryn Southern interviewed Ed Boon (Mortal Kombat guru and director of Injustice for NetherRealm Studios) about the game. One of these questions asked, “Will Injustice be a series?” Boon’s response was as follows:
“We are keeping our fingers crossed. You know, we would love to do other versions of… [he gets cut off] Yes, that would be a great thing.”
So while it may not be set in stone, it is inferred that if given the chance Ed Boon would be interested in making another Injustice title. The future can no way be known as of now — much will depend on sales and future desires — but it’s good to know that Boon is down. Regardless of a future title or not, Injustice works strongly as a standalone game; though, I, for one, would like to see some sequels down the line.
