Electro attacks Times Square in new ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ footage

During the New Year's Eve celebration at Times Square in New York City, new content was shown for Sony Picture's upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

The teaser shows Electro, played by Jamie Foxx, drawing energy from some power cables as a police officer addresses him. Then: chaos. Luckily, everyone's favorite web-slinger shows up. It's a short teaser, but boy is it exciting. I don't want to make hyperbolic statements, but The Amazing Spider-Man 2 looks like it might be the best Spider-Man movie yet.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens in theaters May 2, 2014.
