Embrace the Dark Side in this incredible Star Wars TIE Fighter short film

Over the span of six official Star Wars films, we've been brainwashed into believing in the Rebel Alliance's cause. At no point are we ever even offered the Empire's point of view — until now.

Animator Paul Johnson has spent over four years' worth of weekends working to create an 80s inspired anime short film that shows an epic space battle between the Empire and the Rebel Alliance. Incredible art animation and rocking soundtrack aside, it's the unique point of view in which we're presented with that makes this short totally worth checking out. For the first time, someone has shown us what it's like for the Empire to prepare for a large-scale space battle. And it's amazing.

Watching the short, I find myself torn. For so long I've been led to root for the Rebels, so this perspective is something I've never experienced before. It's unique, that's for sure. With multiple spinoff movies planned, I would love to see Disney and Lucasfilm explore something along these lines with an official film.
