Another day brings more bad news for Crytek. The developer known for the Crysis franchise and Ryse has been in some financial hot water recently. Things appeared to have now reached a boiling point according to Kotaku's Jason Schreier.
According to his sources, several people at Crytek UK have mentioned that they're still missing money they're owed for their work and staffers at the UK office are no longer coming into the office. Some have apparently filed formal grievances. Of course, Crytek hasn't really address the news publically. From the outside, it looks like business as usual to the point where the developer is still advertising open positions on their website, including ten for their UK studio.
Crytek UK is currently working on Homefront: The Revolution, which debuted at E3 last month and is currently slated to release in 2015. The game was in jeopardy as THQ originally owned the rights to the Homefront franchise before Deep Silver purhcased those rights; they now serve as the game's publisher.
Here's to hoping that those affected can quickly land back on their feet.
