EMTEC’s Play Cube Steam Box will fit in the palm of your hand

And provide 4K gaming

Steam consoles are slowly trickling out. While Alienware was the first to the scene with their Alpha PC console, it wasn't branded as a Steam box since Valve didn't have the controller finalized by production. But it's only a matter of time for more to release, not to mention Valve's official Steam box.

EMTEC will have a Steam box of their own, however this device will be microsized, measuring at 4 x 2 x 5 inches. That's super small! But this little box will not only be able to play modern games, it'll also support 4K ultra-high resolution output. Damn!

Here is the official description from EMTEC:

Play Cube Steam Box is an ultracompact PC, powerful enough to run modern graphically intensive games, yet small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. Powered by Gigabyte’s award-winning motherboards and graphics cards, the Play Cube Steam Box includes 4K ultra-high resolution output, surround sound audio and class-leading energy efficiency. The Play Cube Steam Boxwill debut Fall 2015 with a projected price of $899.

The Steam Play Cube won't be available until Fall 2015 and with the projected price of $899, it's not looking cheap, however I can imagine this would be the perfect LAN companion. We'll be keeping an eye on EMTEC's 'little box that could' to see whether it will live up to its promises.
