Remember End of Nations? It was that free-to-play customizable military-squad based real time strategy game. Well… it died. Died as in I supported the foundation program and got reimbursed sort of died. Well much like the prodigal son, it’s returned (yes, that is a House of Pain reference). Unlike the End of Nations of yore, this new version is quite different. In fact, it’s no longer an MMORTS game, it’s a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena now.
While not a whole lot has been released about this phoenix-esque game, I’m assuming the same lore will exist but instead of squads you’ll play as one powerful hero unit with squad support – almost WarCraft IIIish from the pictures. Not sure though. There is a lot of curiosity going on in my head right now about how this will pan out but alpha sign ups already exist and I saw some deal with Raptr earlier. End of Nations is in fact back!
“We received a tremendous amount of positive feedback from our last round of Alpha and Beta testing – and applied those learnings to the game, boiling it down to the strongest core game elements –tactical combat, session-based gameplay, and vastly improved hero units,” said Scot Lane, Executive Producer of End of Nations. “Our core fans have been tremendous during this stage of early development. We are now confident we have the game the fans have been waiting for: a tremendously powerful tactical game that fans of war games and strategy will love.”
War is hell.
