Epic Games announces new MOBA: Paragon

Another day, another MOBA announcement. This one is coming from Gears of War veterans, Epic Games and dubbed Paragon.

If this seems a little pessimistic of an announcement, it’s really only because of genre fatigue. The current bloat of MOBAs on the market right now is a little too reminiscent of the MMO obsession from a few years back that saw multiple studios bankrupted or critically distracted from other projects.

That said, it’s highly doubtful Epic would fall victim to this kind of misstep and Paragon does look incredibly glossy and properly invested while boosting some smooth gameplay. Touting “explosive action, direct third-person control, and deep strategic choice” the game is slatted to come to PC and PS4 with paid Early Access in the spring and an open beta in the summer of next year.
