The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB via Gaf) has rated Max Payne for the PlayStation 4. It's no surprise that the game received an 'M' rating for blood and violence, but it's appearance has surprised quite a few. While this can be exciting news, don't get too ahead of yourself.
Towards the end of November, Sony made the PlayStation 2 emulator available on the PS4, which, as the name suggests, allows users to do download PS2 games and play them on the PS4. Why does the release of the emulator matter when we are talking about Max Payne?
Well, the original Max Payne game released for the PS2 (amongst other platforms), which likely means that Max Payne is probably not getting a remake or reboot, but coming to the PS2 emulator. If the ESRB rating is indicitive of Max Payne coming to PS2 emulation, nothing will be changed about it – except (perhaps) the framerate.
