ESRB rates No Man’s Sky, offers most official game summary yet

With No Man's Sky officially ready for release, there are only a few more hoops for the developers at Hello Games to jump through to get this game released on PC and PlayStation 4. The team is currently working on a day one update for the game and getting it rated by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB).

Well, the ESRB has rated the game and released a nice little summary on the game along side the rating. According to the ESRB, the game's "Fantasy Violence" has rewarded the game with a Teen rating. The summary that the ESRB provided with the rating is a mix of everything we've heard so far, but offer one of the best actual summaries we've seen yet (as opposed to those long winded ones on Steam and PlayStation).

This is a space-exploration adventure game in which players assume the role of a planetary explorer on a quest to reach the center of the universe. From a first-person perspective, players travel between planetary systems to explore alien worlds for resources, upgrade equipment, and discover unique life forms. As players pilot spacecrafts to different planets, they can engage in space combat against enemy ships and space pirates; combat is accompanied by laser fire and large explosions. While on the planet surface, players can use a variety of gun-like weapons and melee attacks to defeat both aggressive and non-aggressive alien creatures. Ground battles can be frenetic at times with frequent laser blasts, screen-shaking effects, and large explosions.

No Man's Sky is set to release on August 9th, 2016.
