Eve Online feud leads to real-life $75,000 bounty

Eve Online is no joke. Once, there was a 21-hour in-game battle that resulted in $300,000 in damages (real money) and resulted in the erection of a real-life monument to commemorate the sheer awesomeness (and maybe the loss of 75 Titans).

The heat is so intense between players that someone if offering $75,000 in real money to anyone that can evict their rival corporation, Hard Knocks Inc., from their home star system called Rage. A short, but to the point, Reddit post by 'holder2k' detailed the contract:

I'm giving away IRL money through a paypal contract link to pay for the IRL time for gamers to participate in evictions. Employed or not Employed IRL you can participate. It will be a "contract link" so payment will be verified by your effort and in game toons. The money can be contractually recalled if you try to take money and run. The event will be Total Payout of: $75,000 USD for Hard Knocks Eviction. Please send legit queries to: me with your in game toon names. The paypal link will be up in 3 weeks based on level on response and screening of toons. The event will be recorded and all toon names logged. The amount is based on total payout, so the more people the less individual payout. Doing the math on HK if we get 800 toons, it's $94 per toon, if we get less the payout goes up. Timing of Ops not disclosed.

What lead to this person offering $75K to evict Hard Knocks Inc.? Well, it looks like someone named 'HeWhoShallNotBeNamed' in Eve Online got upset after being trolled. You can read the full chat log here, but the summary is that the guy got trolled by 'Noobman' of Hard Knocks, then got banned from chat, then threatened legal action on Noobman.

It ended up with HeWhoShallNotBeNamed's corporation getting evicted by Hard Knocks. It's more than likely that 'HeWhoShallNotBeNamed' and 'holder2k' are the same person, considering their want to evict Hard Knocks.

You'd think people would be siding with 'HeWhoShallNotBeNamed' / 'holder2k,' but people are standing with Noobman.

I've seen the "threats" you have sent Noobman. You are certifiable buddy. Completely batshit insane. I urged Noobman to take the crap you send him to the security team at CCP but he is too nice for that. You're lucky you are harassing a solid individual and not someone like me who would demand your head on a pike. Go back to licking windows. I stand with Noobman
