Everspace 2 out this December on Steam, 2022 on Consoles

Now that's a long porting time

Indie developer Rockfish Games has shared the PC release date for Everspace 2. The wildly enhanced sequel of the adrenaline-packed space shooter is set to launch on Steam Early Access this December. Check out the new trailer below!

Now here’s some nice news for fans of space-sims. Everspace 2 is inbound for PCs later this year. In case you played the first one, there is even more reason to be excited. The original Everspace was more of a roguelike action-oriented experience.

But with the sequel, Rockfish is going bigger and better in almost every way. The sequel to the 2017 original boasts with a more detailed open world – or rather open space world -, deep customization mechanics, RPG elements, and a thoughtful narrative story. As a singleplayer game, the latter part in particular will come in handy especially.

Discover alien species, unveil mysteries, find hidden treasures and defend your valuables against outlaw clans. But don’t get cocky: there will be some high-risk/high-reward areas waiting for you where grabbing that ultra-special gear and getting out alive will require some serious piloting skills and all your talent for improvisation.

Console players on the PlayStation 4 might be a bit confused as they got the port of the first Everspace not even a year ago. But that ought to be no issue with Everspace 2 aiming to land on consoles in 2022! That’s some ways off alright and should give console players of the first game enough time to fully exhaust all that has to offer.

With the console release window two years off, it’s fair to assume that will be targeting next-gen consoles only. In the meantime, get excited to delve into the gorgeous open world of Everspace 2 on PC this December.
