Well, we are through with the official first reveal of Call of Duty: WWII and it came with plenty of information and details. You can slide around clicking from one thing to another to soak up all the news possible or you can find it all in one place – right here.
Below you will find all the information revealed today (and it will be updated on the following page to become a mega-Call of Duty: WWII post as time goes on).
There's one bit of information that isn't yet detailed and that's the auto-health regeneration or the lack thereof. An interview with Sledgehammer co-founder Glen Schofield has detailed that players will no longer be bullet sponges:
"You have to worry about every bullet. You're not the superhero. You can't just stand there taking seven bullets, ducking, shooting again. It's refreshing for us to deal with recruits who aren't tier-one warriors, to show that vulnerability. They're naive. It's been a really cool challenge creating this different kind of gameplay."
It's unclear if this health system will be in the campaign mode, co-op mode, and multiplayer mode or in just one of the game modes.
Call of Duty: WWII is set to release on November 3rd, 2017 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game will have timed-exclusive DLC for the PS4 (30 days) and will get a beta on the PS4 first as well (pre-ordering will get you access to a private beta that will be at least three days long and on all available platforms). Other platforms will be getting the DLC and beta afterward.
CAMPAIGN:
Players will be taking the role of a US Army 1st Infantry Division soldier named Red Daniels. The campaign will take us through occupied France, Belgium, and across the Rhine into Germany, mostly between 1944 and 1945, where players will encounter the French resistance movement.
Sledgehammer let us in on two of the missions in the upcoming game:
MULTIPLAYER:
The multiplayer for Call of Duty: WWII will be revealed during E3 2017 (it will also be playable then), however, a number of new features were detailed during the livestream. You'll be able to play as American G.I., as well as "women resistance fighters, Brits, African-American GIs and others to be announced" – including German.
Game Modes:
Social Feature:
The game's "third mode" has been detailed to be a co-op mode that runs separately from the game's campaign. It has been detailed as a "horror" game that focuses on the story of the Third Reich's desperate attempt to create an army in the final stages of the war.
There will be a $50 Season Pass for the game that will include an undisclosed amount of DLC that will be released throughout 2018.
Call of Duty: WWII Digital Deluxe $99.99
Call of Duty: WWII Pro Edition $99.99 (exclusive to GameStop) (Xbox One, PS4)
