With over 2000 games on sale right now, there’s bound to be something for everyone.

SOMA is Frictional Games’ most recent game and features all the hallmarks of the talented Swedish studio’s past works. They are probably best known for their atmospheric horror game Amnesia: The Dark Descent and the Penumbra series. With their fine mix of adventure and psychological horror, Frictional Games cemented their status as expert craftsmen of the horror genre without relying on trite tropes like gory visuals and constant jump scares.

Instead, it’s the deep world creation and exactly the courage to give players the opportunity to soak in the world, its rules and lore which helped catapult Amnesia into the legendary status of horror games. We certainly fell in love with SOMA which you can read in our review.

Similarly, SOMA is all about a believable and well-crafted world but this time horror takes a much more subdued role in the player experience. The game rather puts emphasis on an idea much less represented in video games. Philosophy and existential dread make players think about what it means to be human. It would be a darn shame to tell more about SOMA, just grab the game for free and enjoy a unique and brilliant experience yourself.
