Cammie Dunaway, Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Nintendo of America, has announced that she will be leaving her position, effective October 1. She has accepted a new position outside of the game industry, but her new position has not been announced.
Reggie Fils-Aime, President and COO of Nintendo of America, on the topic, said, “We appreciate Cammie’s contributions to Nintendo and the role she played in bringing the Wii and Nintendo DS experiences to millions of people. Her team and the rest of Nintendo of America remain focused on our goal of maintaining the incredible momentum Nintendo enjoys heading into the busy holiday season.”
Dunaway has been with the company since November 2007, and before departing, said, “I’m thankful for my time with Nintendo and proud of our team’s accomplishments in growing the Nintendo audience. I look forward to watching the continued growth of the Nintendo brand in the years ahead,” regarding her departure.
Gamers may also remember Dunaway as the constant target of mockery, typically in tandem with her appearances at E3, and unabashed support of all Nintendo products, no matter how critically reviled.
